GANESH DESAI

Ganesh Desai is a multi-faceted artist as a Classical and light Vocalist, Music Director, Composer, Tabla Player and Harmonium Player. His awards include Hero Honda “Suurtaranga” Award for Best Young Artists 2003, “Aryabhata” Kalakusuma Cultural Award for Sugama Sangeeta, Bangalore-2000, and Best Student Award- Kittel Science College Dharwad-1999.

Originally, from the State of Karnataka, Ganesh Desai was brought up in the rural village setting within a family of talent in the Performing Arts and Classical Music. From the age of six his father, Vibhakar Desai trained him in the fields of Traditional Folk Art (Yakshagana), Drama and Music. In his later years, he trained to be a Singer, Music Composer, and has sung for many live Musical Concerts, Music Festivals and Performances all over India and abroad. He also sang for Dance ballets for Kathak, Odissi, and Bharata Natyam styles and as well as for the latest film Kala.

Ganesh Desai as an experienced vocalist demonstrates mastery over Hindustani and Carnatic classical styles of singing. As an accomplished Musical Director, he has directed music for Dance Ballets, Documentary films, depicting complex Socio-political issues, TV Serials, Dance Dramas, Albums, Skits and Mimes. His recent Music Direction was for “Kala” Hindi art movie, Triveni Sangama mega serial (ETV), Sangolli Raayanna mega serial (SUVARNA) “, Bhakti Mani Maala & Bhaava Mani Maala” collection of golden songs in Telugu and Kannada.

While in high school, Ganesh Desai learned and mastered the Tabla under the guidance of Guru Dattatrya Hegde and has accompanied many artists on the Tabla for classical concerts. Under the guidance of Guru Vasant Kanakapur, well known Harmonium player and composer of Music in AIR Dharwad, he gained proficiency over the Harmonium. Presently, at the young age, after gaining his MBA in Marketing and Human Resources, he is the “B” high Grade artist in All India Radio. Doora Darshana (DD) Bangalore, E TV, Kasturi & Udaya TV are telecasting his programs and some News papers have covered his profile.

Currently Ganesh Desai teaching music at a prestigious international school Greenwood High and prestigious cultural center Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan continues his efforts in Music Direction, Music Composition and other Theatrical Performances. He is widely traveled and awarded in India and at international festivals in UK, CANADA and AKKA festival Houston USA in the year 2000 ,2004 and 2006.

NAMITA DESAI


Namita Desai, one among the graded dancers and achievers of today and strives to excel in the field of Dance. She took her initial training in Bharatanatyam under Late. Shri P.V.Upadhyaya, “Smt Mandakini Udupi “and Vidwan Shri K. Ramamurthy Rao of Mysore. In the later stage to nurture her deep interest in this art, she moved to Bangalore and received training in Bharatanatyma and Mohini Attam from Karnataka kala shree Kalamadanalam, Smt. Usha Datar. Besides having an academic qualification of B.Com, she completed her senior grade examination in Bharatanatym conducted by Karnataka Govt. (1998) and master’s degree in dance (M.A) from Bangalore University (2003).

Currently Namita Desai is under the tutelage of Guru B. Bhanumati Bangalore and has completed her “Rangapravesha” successfully in the year 2005. Presently Namita Desai is performing in the prestigious dance Troup “Bharatanjali” of Guru B. Bhanumati and striving to make the aspects of Abhinaya, her forte.

Namita Desai has been an active participant in many dance features presented, on both stage and television. She has traveled widely across Karnataka and India, presenting solo and group performances. She has also choreographed many dance dramas.

Acting in small screen
Adding to her multitalented personality is her experience in acting for television. Her convincing portrayal of the character “Gayatri” in “Moodalamane” of ETV. She also acted in other serials like “Nanda Gokula”, “Malebillu”, and “Nirantara” of ETV and “Swabhimana” of Zee Kannada channel, “Sangolli Raayanna” of Suvarna Channel, playing as Rani Chennamma a famous Historical character & Classic Projects of Door Darshan. At present, acting in a serial “Maneyondu Mooru baagilu” (ETV)and Kallu Sakkare (Kasturi)
